Where did the name Underdog come from?

When my wife and I were thinking about a name for our business, the name underdog came up for a few reasons. For one, I am an avid boxing enthusiast who roots for the underdog at all times. I am also a big fan of the Rocky franchise. There is something so inspiring about the speech that Rocky gives to his son. Read it below or watch the clip here.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!"

― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa

Secondly, we are new to Georgia and are taking the business to the next level by going full time. I have been asked "Aren't you concerned with all the competition in GA?"

Now, I can choose to focus on my competition or I can focus on doing the best work in the business and establishing a positive reputation one nail at a time. I choose the latter. I am okay with being the underdog. We always surprise you when you least expect it and as I tell my boys, in the end, hard work always prevails.

Plus, our dog Finn is our company mascot! It can't be any better than that!
